As before, the car is available in 5 colors: solid black, midnight silver metallic, deep blue
metallic, pearl white multi-coat, and red multi-coat. Every other color besides black will
cost extra anywhere from $1500-$2500 more! The car comes with 20” shiny aluminum
wheels but you can get 20” or 22” carbon fiber wheels for $2000 or $5500, respectively.
A new interior is offered this year with the cream interior for $1500 on the standard and
long range versions. Otherwise the all black or black and white interior options are
available. The Model X offers a 5,6, or 7 seat interior. The six seat interior has 3 rows of
2 seats and the 7 seat interior has 2 seats in the front and back with 3 seats in the
middle row. Most oddly is that the 6 seat interior costs $6000 extra, but the 7 seat option
costs only $3000 more. The most important option for many people is the inclusion of
autopilot for $3000 and the full self driving capability for $5000. The technology right
now is capable to drive itself on clear highways, auto park, and summon your car to
you. Tesla is promising later this year to have the system automatically recognize and
respond to traffic lights and stop signs to where the car will become self driving on city
streets. With this Tesla is leading the way into making their cars and other cars level 5
autonomous revolutionizing transportation.
At this point the only cons to electric cars at this point is that the range isn’t great for
road trips and the price is too high. But, Tesla is fixing this too by lowering the cost of
their battery production and introducing their budget Model S, the Model 3. If this article
