Tesla Chrome Delete
If you have a Tesla, you have the most technological and futuristic vehicle in the world. However, the one thing that seems old fashioned is the inclusion of the chrome on the logos, window panes, door handles, and other body parts. However, many third party shops will cover this up and change it to any color you want. But, if you have a white Tesla consider the stormtrooper modification which changes the chrome to white and they also take the wheels and powder coat them white so the car looks like a Stormtrooper from Star Wars. To learn more about chrome delete read below.
How Do They Do It?
With a chrome delete, instead of taking off the body panels and replacing them, they wrap the chrome in a vinyl so that none of the chrome is visible. While on most body parts they can cover it completely, on the door panels and sometimes the foldable mirrors they can’t cover the whole chrome part as it would interfere too much and make the door handle or mirror or other moving part with tight tolerances un-functional. Besides that, there is not much to it.
Where Can I Get My Chrome Delete?
Almost anybody shop will be able to delete the chrome with a vinyl wrap for you for around $1000 dollars depending on your model and the type of wrap you want. Although if you have the experience you will be able to do it yourself for quite less money although this process is easy to mess up and comes with no warranty. If you want your Tesla wrapped by Tesla experts some good options are
¥ RPM Tesla
¥ T Sportline
¥ Unplugged Performance
In conclusion, while all Tesla’s are sleek, beautiful cars, everyone has their own individual taste. Many feel that the chrome is too old fashioned and does not capture the futuristic styling that the car represents. However, there are many options to replace this from many 3rd party sources. So if you want your Tesla looking just as good as it drives and feels, get the chrome delete pack. In fact, Tesla’s new Model Y that was unveiled in early 2019 has no chrome accents and that seems to be the future for when the Model S, X, & 3 get facelifts so thankfully soon all Tesla’s will have this look and you won’t have to pay for this upgrade.
